The Berges Family Foundation supports the institutions and organizations that make Saint Louis a great place to live, visit, work, and invest. Our contributions help fund Cultural Engagement, STEM Preparedness, Youth Empowerment, and Support for Heroes. Our contributions help change lives, one life at a time.

Beyond Our Mission Statement
Have you ever seen a child in need of serious medical care who does not have the means nor the ability to get that care? In our sheltered worlds, it’s easy to forget about the children who need our help in zip codes we do our best to avoid. And what about the veteran struggling to reintegrate into civilian life who wants nothing more than a new purpose but doesn’t know who to turn to for help? How do these people attain hope for a better life, a better future without outside help?
It is important to our family to help at-risk children, our heroes, and those who serve them on a deeply personal level that makes a far-reaching impact. When you stop to think about how lucky we are and the many ways in which we can all do our part – by giving, volunteering, reaching out to a neighbor or child in need, getting your social network involved, and simply sharing love – it just seems like an obvious solution to a better future for us all.
Why Four Focus Areas
Since 2014, The Berges Family Foundation has given back to St. Louis in many ways – ways that have impacted the smallest child to our entire city. We have chosen four specific focus areas – Cultural Engagement, Youth Empowerment, STEM Preparedness, and Support for Heroes – because we believe they represent the future of St. Louis through life-changing individual assistance and community growth and revitalization.
How We Choose Who to Help
We not only support the institutions and organizations that meet our criteria, we support those we feel are deeply affecting the lives of others. We do it out of love for those whose lives our beneficiaries are changing, for each and every child and adult who needs a hand up and hope for a better future.
Whether through education, health, music, dance, or simple human love and care, we feel that by making a difference in one child’s or veteran’s life, we can affect a whole community. The organizations we support do an amazing job of doing just that – spreading hope, love, and empowerment with depth and lasting benefits, making St. Louis a better place to live.
St. Louis Community Foundation
Finding local organizations who share in our mission led us to the St. Louis Community Foundation. The St. Louis Community Foundation inspires regional philanthropy to meet community needs. One service the Community Foundation provides is grants management and administrative support for private and family foundations like the Berges Family Foundation.
We Need Your Help
We cannot stress enough the difference you can make a child’s life that positively and significantly affects her home life, then her classroom, her school, her zip code, and finally, her community. We have witnessed these changes through our philanthropy and want to share this message with great emphasis.
As we move forward, we hope to inspire others like yourself to give in any capacity that you can. Whether you volunteer your time or give donations, what may be a small contribution on your part can make a tremendous difference to the life of another. How incredible would it be to know that your $20 was the last $20 needed to support one child’s ability to get into a safer, more educational school or get a wheelchair and get out of the hospital?
Encouraging Others
With your involvement, our local nonprofits can meet their goals to continue helping others – one life at a time. Be sure to read our beneficiaries’ success stories and see how human compassion and dedication to those in need of a hand up can make a remarkable difference. Tell others, help others, spread the love.
